LummerVille Resort in Daytona Beach: “Pick Your Adventure” Vacation

Daytona Beach isn’t a one-size-fits-all kind of place—and that’s exactly why we keep coming back. You can park the car, forget the world exists, and live the beach life… or you can treat this place like your launchpad and explore something new every single day.

Either way—you win.

If sitting still isn’t your thing, you’re in the perfect location to branch out. I like to stay moving and Andrea can spend a week in that pool.

Here are some of the best day trips and experiences within easy reach that we enjoy:

  • Ormond Scenic Loop & Trail
One of Florida’s most underrated drives. Ocean on one side, canopy-covered roads on the other. Doesn’t take long but very fun to do.
  • St. Augustine
The oldest city in the U.S. Cobblestone streets, history everywhere, great food. This is a long but beautiful drive along the coast. I love the drive
  • Ponce Inlet – In my opinion this is the best day trip around for everyone, including the kids. Can’t go wrong here!!!
The Lighthouse climb it if you’re feeling ambitious—worth every step! My 80 yr. old father can do it. Then go to the Marine Science Center (a must)
  • Daytona International Speedway
Even if you’re not a race fan, the tour is impressive. If you time it right you can even ride in a race car. That experience is amazing, just saying
  • Kennedy Space Center
This is one of those “bucket list” places. Plan a full day.
  • Walt Disney World
About an hour away. Yes—it’s worth the drive! Its also worth the drive to get back to the Ocean and avoid all the traffic.
  • Universal Orlando Resort
Thrill rides, Harry Potter, and great food. We have so much fun here. With our kids being much older now, we always try and fit this in once a year.
  • Silver Glen Springs
Crystal clear water. Old Florida feel. If you haven’t done this or never looked into this, you must. Yet another great day trip not very far away.
  • Wagon Trails Animal Park
Great for families and something completely different.

Bottom line: If you want movement, adventure, and variety—you’ve got options for days. After booking always reach out to us and we will gladly help plan some trips for you.

Now let’s talk about the real magic… doing absolutely nothing—and loving every second of it.

Here’s how a perfect “stay-put” stretch looks:

Day 1 – Ease Into Vacation Mode

  • Coffee on the pool deck at sunrise (this alone is worth the trip) I love watching the sunrises from the balcony or the pool deck. Our day just starts better
  • Wander over to LandShark Bar & Grill Daytona Beach for a mimosa or Bloody Mary. Everyday Andrea watches the clock waiting for our 5 minute beach walk for a mimosa.
  • Back to the pool for some downtime. Andrea can spend all day in that lounge chair reading her books. I get too damn hot and go wonder around or end up chatting all day in the pool
  • Beach walk to Daytona Beach Pier and back (~1.5 miles total). It’s pretty much and routine for many of the owners here, doctors orders. Need to get your walk in every day. What better way to get your walk in than walking the Daytona Beach every day.
  • Dinner at Ocean Deck Restaurant & Beach Club right on the sand. They have some of the best food right here and a super fun place to have a drink or something to eat. Music video by Jake Owen with the song “Beachin” was filmed along this beach and inside Ocean Deck. Be sure to watch the video prior to heading down here. Kind of fun heading in after you see the video.

Day 2 – Add a Little Fun

  • Repeat the morning (because why mess with perfection?)
  • Ride the Daytona SlingShot if you’ve got the guts. Andrea and my Dad absolutely love this damn thing LOL. I ride it but I’m never as excited as they are.
  • Walk down the beach to Joe’s Crab Shack Daytona Beach — grab rooftop seating. Up on this roof they have it laid out well with plenty of seating. Its fun to look down at the fishing pier and watch what gets caught. Some pretty crazy critters get pulled out of the ocean

Day 3 – Turn It Up a Notch

  • Pool + beach rotation (you’ll find your rhythm fast) You can literally spend all day here jumping from the pool to the ocean. Sit up by the pool or take one of our beach chairs down and sit on the beach.
  • Evening drinks and live music at Streamline Hotel Rooftop Bar. Look up The Streamline, it has a ton of NASCAR history and has a great view from the rooftop

Day 4 – Date Night Done Right

  • Get dressed up (yes, even on vacation—trust me) Andrea and I will always have at least one date night every time we are down here. Its our thing. You should too at least one day while you are down here
  • Beach walk at night—barefoot, ocean breeze, no rush. Walking up the beach all dressed up is actually pretty fun. Perfect time for some pictures of your pretty lady against the ocean.
  • Dinner at Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse. No matter if you eat light or over eat a bit, you get to walk it off while listening to the waves crash on the beach. TRY and make it the full moon night because that moon glow is something special as well.

That barefoot walk back along the beach at night?
That’s the moment people remember more than you would assume.

Why This Vacation Style Works (And Why You’ll Love It)

Daytona Beach gives you something most places don’t:

  • Zero pressure to plan everything
  • Plenty to do if you want it
  • Plenty to NOT do if you don’t

You can go full explorer…
Or full beach mode…
Or bounce between both depending on your mood (which is what Andrea and I usually do). We both get our way LOL

Final Thought

Some vacations feel rushed.
Some feel over planned.

This one?
You control the pace. And we are here to help you do just that.

And no matter which path you choose—you’re probably already planning your next trip before this one ends. We want and need you enjoy this place just like we do!!! Come stay at our place.
