It Started With a Simple Idea
Andrea and I have been hosting for about three years now, but the idea started long before that.
Like a lot of people, we wanted a place near the beach — somewhere we could escape, relax, and enjoy time together. The reality, though? Owning a vacation property isn’t always simple… or cheap.
So we made a decision that changed everything:
If we were going to do this, we’d rent our place out when we weren’t using it.
What we didn’t expect… was how much we would love it.
We Didn’t Just Find a Property — We Found a Passion
Once we started hosting, something clicked.
We didn’t just enjoy owning a place at the beach — we genuinely loved helping other people enjoy their vacations.
Planning trips, recommending restaurants, sharing hidden gems… it didn’t feel like work. It felt like something we were meant to do.
So we leaned into it.
We started asking ourselves:
“What do we wish every vacation rental had?”
Then we built our space around that.
- Comfortable, not cluttered
- Fully stocked with the essentials (and then some)
- Thoughtful touches that make a stay easier
- A place that actually feels like a vacation
Based on guest feedback… we must be doing something right.
The Year That Tested Everything
Just as we were getting into a rhythm, life threw us a curveball.
After our first year, our entire condo building was shut down for a full year due to a State of Florida mandatory concrete restoration project.
No guests.
No bookings.
No income.
But all the expenses? Still there.
HOA fees, taxes, everything.
It wasn’t easy — not even close. But we stuck it out, knowing what we had built was worth it.
The Comeback (And Then Some)
In January 2026, we reopened our calendars.
Honestly, it felt like starting over again.
But this time, we had experience, confidence, and a better understanding of what guests truly wanted.
Fast forward just a few months…
- We now own three condos
- We’re managing additional units for other owners
- We’ve built relationships with amazing people in our building
- And we’re growing faster than we ever expected
That kind of trust doesn’t happen by accident — and we don’t take it lightly.
